When i was about 7 or 8, i saw the cover of clive barker’s “the thief of always” in my scholastic reading club pamphlet and i knew i had to have it.

I was a little skeptical about reading a young adult book by clive (the man who wrote the hellbound heart wrote a children’s book…really?). But, central to the dark fantasy was the lovely harvey swick and the magic that he could do. However, my parents weren’t so keen on.
